“Dada” was a post-World War I art movement that consisted of artists that rejected the logic, reason, and aestheticism of modern capitalist society, instead expressing nonsense and irrationality in their work. In 1923, Theo van Doesburg and Kurt Schwitters embarked on their “Dada campaign” throughout Holland, hoping to spread the movement across the country with lectures and performances. This poster, entitled Little Dada Soirée (Kleine Dada Soirée) advertised one such evening.
